Reset duration

For a variable-rate preferred such as STRC or SATA, the time until the first dividend period whose rate is not yet set, in years. It is the lead duration figure on the Yield Desk for names whose issuer resets the rate.

A short reset duration means the issuer can move the rate toward market soon, which keeps the price closer to par than a fixed-rate perpetual of the same yield.
